Plugged in
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:30-31
Even the youths....
We all get tired, we all get weary, we all feel like giving up, and we all feel like we are losing hope sometimes. In these times, where do we go and who can we run to?
But they that wait.......
This category is for anyone who is willing to trust in the Lord. That requires waiting.
What are we waiting on? His power and His strength to infuse us. His direction, His favor and His divine intervention. It’s so easy to get burned out. It’s so easy to lose hope when we don’t know know the way out. We will surely run dry when we rely on our own sources and strength. Because at the end of our rope, their is a dead end. There are some things we just can’t fix on our own. We will run out of resources eventually and when we do, we will either give up or keeping searching in the wrong direction. That’s where and when we find, the answer lies in Him. It always has, it always will. The struggle is real but so is our God and the power that’s in Him.
We must go to the life giving source. We must plug into Him. Any other port or outlet is just a temporary fix.
He didn’t give us this life just to walk it out for us, He wants to re-energize us, renew us, strengthen us, help us to soar, give us direction, and encourage us to keep going. But we can’t do this without the life giving power source. We are one with Him or we are on our own. That’s why we must wait on Him. While we wait, we plug into Him to re-charge our batteries if you will.
When we wait, we are a lot like our I phones when plugged in. We know that they don’t run without a charge and neither do we. Eventually we won’t work properly and then we will shut down. It’s a daily charge. We don’t even think twice, we just do it. Jesus withdrew often to pray and to be alone with His Father. How much more should we do the same? It should be second nature like plugging in our phones and slowing down our minds.
It’s vital to come to God and to and meditate on Him. Listening for His still small voice, resting and knowing that He’s got this. Just unplugging from the world, with no communication except to sit and rest in the Fathers arms and in His presence. It’s a necessity. That’s when we are plugging into Him.
I just want to remind you today, when we put those phones on charge , we don’t struggle, worry, or think “oh my gosh what if it don’t charge”. That is unless, we plug them into a faulty source. He is never faulty, always faithful. When we charge then at night, we rest easy, trusting that the charge is doing it’s thing. When we lay our heads on our pillows at night and all throughout the day, we can rest knowing that our Power source is doing His job as we stay plugged into Him. And unlike our homes power going out, we never have to worry about God losing His power or resources. We don’t fret. We trust the power source. We expect Him to do what only He can do. That’s what it looks like to wait.
Make sure that you are plugged into the right power source, the life giving source that created you for a good purpose and with good plans. Don’t lose heart. Don’t faint. Don’t give up. Come to Him.
Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
I know you’re tired and weary, but come to the fountain of life, the source of our strength. All those who are heavy and weak, and can to find rest, it’s an invitation to come.
The hope that I find is this: I have one Who gives me not only strength but direction so that I can do all these things because He gives me the strength. I can plug into Him. That’s when I am infused. Often we want Him to do it all for us, we want Him to take it all away and to make it easy. Thing is, we can cast all of our care on Him and in fact, we are invited to, but in this He helps us to carry the load. An ox yoke was made for two animals to pull a heavy load. He said that His yoke is easy and His burden light. When we allow Him into our burdens with us, He helps us carry it because He carries the brunt of the weight.
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.’ We aren’t in this alone and it His Spirit in us that enables us to carry on. He gives us peace in exchange for worry. He doesn’t necessarily make it all go away, He makes it possible.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
