When it’s from the Lord
1 Kings 2
12: Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was firmly established.
15: Then he said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and all Israel had set their expectations on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom has been turned over, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from the LORD.
When it’s yours, and it’s from the Lord, then no man can stop it!
Things aren’t always as we think or want them to be but as they should be. Times and seasons change, tables turn, things don’t always happen as we expect, as the other versions put it, but God will always have His way.
We see other examples as when David was chosen and anointed to be King, the unlikely candidate compared to his bothers. We also see that God’s way will be had as with Samson. He gave away his secrets and thus power to a woman but nevertheless, God still had His way in the end. Whatever God wants will be established and seated as was Solomons throne.
There is nothing we can do about what God wants to do. We can be out of His plan but if we trust Him to do what He wants in our lives, then despite the good or bad- He has His way.
So no matter what you are going through, if things seem different than they should be, it’s ok. We shouldn’t force fit or manipulate things to be as we want them. Life isn’t a fairy tale like Cinderella but the same concept stands. If the shoe don’t fit, it don’t fit: Gods got just the right fit for each and everyone. There’s nothing we can do to change or stop that. We shouldn’t try to force fit shoes that aren’t for us. If it is meant for us, it’ll come back around to us. God will show us favor and we will find the right fit. If we are truly doing our best and trusting in God, that’s when we can rely on and know that God will have His way and final say.
Just look around at America today, we see corruption everywhere. Political seats and status are changing constantly. We cast votes and have certain wishes but fact is, it’s at some point out of our hands. God surely does set up and tear down seats as He wishes. We can do what we want, vote how we want, and people make lots of bad decisions, but God is the Same God yesterday - today- and forever more... That is the one thing we can count and depend on that doesn’t change!!! Thank God!
Just as these same things and scenarios happened in the Bible, they happen now. Sodom and Gomorrah became corrupt but God had the final say in that. Kings were set up and kingdoms established but unless following Gods commands, they were torn down and it didn’t end well, ever! So be reminded today that God gets the final say, not only in this realm but in your own life.
If it seems that you have lost your place in line, you’re being treated unfairly, or maybe even that you feel you’ve totally been looked over, take heart - God sees and God gets the final say.
He does what He promises and He does what is right and just, and it doesn’t always look like what we think it should. He is the way and knows the right way. Solomons brother was to be King in the people’s eyes because of his birth position, he was next in line, but not so in Gods eyes! So it doesn’t matter what should be, it matters what God says. No matter who’s in front of you or even behind you, God sees you. He has good plans for you! Has He made you a certain promise? Then as long as you align, it’ll come to pass. If you need a promise, seek Him and His Word is full of promises to all believers! Believers follow because they believe. So don’t doubt Gods goodness for you.
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11
So know today that you can’t force, change, manipulate, or worry your way into what God does or doesn’t want. God does what He wants. The only thing to worry about is not being in Gods will but there’s no need to worry if you are and truly trusting Him. Fear God only and keep His commands and He will do what’s right, not what’s expected by man!!! God rules and reigns. He isn’t governed by man. Trust God and only follow Him!!!! He will do what’s best and when least expected. He’s God and we are not. That’s why we can trust Him!
Father God,
Please forgive me for not trusting you and trying to force things on my own and for doubting You. You are God alone. You are perfect and Your timing is too. You don’t need my help, only my cooperation. All power belongs to You and I am just a vessel. Have Your way in me and in my life. You will bring all things to pass, in your time. Thank You for being a Good God that can be trusted to do what’s right when the time is right! My time and my life is in Your hands, so again, thank you today for the reminder that You know what’s best! In Your Son Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏
