What do you hunger for?

Whatever you're really hungry for, you'll go hard after and you will find a way to get it. The things you don't really want, you won't really pursue.

Are you hungry for God or are you hungry for the things of this world? One fills temporarily and the other is the only one that can really full-fill.

“Those who seek me with their whole heart will find me.” Jeremiah 29:13

“Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and then...... All the rest of these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

We must Seek God. We must seek Him FIRST and ABOVE all else. He says He stands at the door and knocks. If we will let Him in, He will sup with us and us with Him. He is the bread of life and living waters.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. Psalm 42:1

This is not a peaceful scene as some would think. It’s rather a picture of a deep longing desire or need. As a deer pants for water…. So my soul pants for You, O God. To pant is to long eagerly or to breath quickly. The deer is very thirsty longing for a drink. What if we sought after God this way. All of our souls are thirsty but it’s what we seek after determines how and if we are filled. Be careful what you seek after.

He will lead us. He can provide for us. He deserves first place. He desires a relationship with us. We must desire, hunger, thirst and seek hard after Him. I️t is not hard to find Him for He is near, right here. (Psalm 145:18)

The word says, that In Him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28) To say we must seek hard after Him, is to seek after Him with our whole being. To want His spirit so bad that we want and desire it more than food; that it would be the center desire of everything we do.

A hunger drives someone. It's the driving force behind all that we do. It sets our priorities if we don't set them. Its like a man starving for literal food and willing to work all that he can to feed himself and/or his family. Or, it's like a drug addict driven to find the next pill, drink or whatever he can get his hands on. Or one that pursues heavily riches and will do whatever it takes to obtain them no matter who it hurts or what it takes to get it. It's the hunger of that thing, or that someone, that will drive us to fill that want or that need.

Only Christ can fill.

I want more of Gods Spirit and I ask that He would pour it out on me!!!! The more He fills me, the less room I have for anything else/ until everything that doesn’t belong in me, will flow out of me from His overflow of abundance.

Don't seek so hard after the things of world that can’t fill. You’ll keep seeking and hopelessly pursuing just to eventually find that it won't bring peace or fulfillment. Try seeking His Kingdom first and see if the things you really need won’t be added to you! He can’t lie. He will do what He said He will do. Seek the Provider. You'll continually need more and more and more, just to be left wondering why you still aren't satisfied if you do it any other way.

In the sense of The Holy Spirit, you'll want more because it's so good that you will want to share it with others. You will want them to be filled also. Not just a little filled, not just to the brim but like a waterfall that continually flows over and over again. He is continual. His well never runs dry. He is the resource and One thing that can't run dry.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14

My sister use to sing this song:

"Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up Lord. Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of Heaven feed ME till I want no more. Here's my cup, fill it up and make me whole."

This should be our cry. Our prayer. Our plea. Our pant. We should be so hungry for The Spirit of The Living God that it drives and consumes everything that we do.

What consumes you? You'll want more of!

Seek ye First The Kingdom of God. And His Righteousness.

We have to eat, we have to drink. God is ok with us enjoying earthly pleasures. That is why God created it, for us to enjoy! He came to give us LIFE & LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY. But bottom line: they are not the things which fulfill us, HE IS! We must crave Him as necessary food. Life is more than what we eat, what we drink or raiment (what we wear.) First things first. You might get them but can’t keep them. They are temporal and fading quick, but He is eternal.

What do you seek FIRST? And WHAT do you follow hard after? Wanna know where your heart is? Where your true treasure is: THERE you'll find your heart also. The heart is the matter of all things and everything you do flows from it. For life is more than these.......

Seek God First and Stay hungry for Him. Amen.
